7 self care tips to add to your routine
Welp, 2021’s not off to a great start now is it? To help ease anxiety, stress, and keep your mind clear in this first month of the New Year, below are a some ways to get your year started on the right foot:
Drink two glasses of water when you wake up each day
Make your bed every morning, for it will help get your productivity started (and keep your room tidy)
Put your phone on “Do Not Disturb” and meditate for 10 to 15 minutes to set your intentions for the day
Get some exercise, not matter how long or strenuous
If you’re feeling tired or dragging, take a quick nap for 20-30 minutes to recharge
Hop in a hot bath with Epsom salt, as Epsom salt is an incredible healing agent and pain reliever. It’s also added to hot baths and foot soaks to help reduce stress and promote a better nights sleep
Sit on the edge of your bed, take five deep breaths, and let go of the day before you get into bed for the night
diy wall art
We’ve made it people, to the last week of the year where we have no clue what day it is. You’ve watched The Queen’s Gambit, The Undoing, Normal People, The Flight Attendant, The Vow, The Bachelorette, heck, you even watched Love Island (just me?). If you’ve run out of programming this year and you want to get something accomplished in this week of purgatory, here’s a fun DIY wall art idea for your home: this painted arch gives your space a fresh pop of color and will add some dimension to any room. Earth tones are likely safest, but if you want a bold color, well my friends, 2020’s OVER and we say go for it!

diy holiday edition
DIY can sometimes look, well, DIY. However, we found this super pretty and fun DIY from Monika Hibbs called the Holiday Paper Garland that will help get you and your home in the Christmas spirit. If you’re the type of person (like me) that hates the mess and constant clean-up of real garlands - and you don’t like the cheap look of a lot of fake ones - then this is the perfect DIY for you! It’s simple, tasteful and can be a great way to get crafty with your younger ones. Click here for full the tutorial.
plastic rug pad alternative
At some point, rug pads inevitably end up being thrown away. Good news is there are always little ways we can do our parts to help our environment. This soy bean oil based rug pad is a great alternative to the classic rubber ones. It won’t just sit in a landfill for eternity. When there’s the option for eco-friendly, we always recommend making the sustainable choice.
steal or splurge
Icing on the cake? This steal comes with a full set of chairs.
